First Avenue is a 13,000 cubic yard concrete paved city street through the heart of downtown Jamestown. Inspite of continuous rain delays the project was competed in an orderly time using 70 hour work weeks for 5 months of work. Through a great amount of coordination, cooperation, and communication, relations with the business community along the project received local community recognition and praise. Project awards judges recognized the contractors efforts to provide the owner with a premium smooth ride. This project will contribute to low future maintenance cost and thus low life cycle costs. Compliments to the City of Jamestown and NDDOT for selecting concrete pavements.
