Owner: Concrete pavement is the obvious material of choice for high traffic arterial streets like 13th Avenue. Owners and Engineers have recognized the advancements in construction with concrete where cost-effective solutions are available under traffic, fast track, staging, and rapid return to service to local businesses. The Engineer's use of incentives for early completion has provided the perfect tool to minimize construction impact. Combining an effective public relations effort with appropriate
allocation of construction assets, the contractor was able to construct this massive project with minimal impact to the local business community. Even with significant underground work and 20,000 cubic yards of paving, the contractor was able to complete the project 46 days ahead of the completion deadline. Congratulations to all involved with this award-winning
project.
