This award-winning project continues the trend in pushing the aesthetic, environmental and durability concept of concrete and concrete products in the city streetscape. The massive project undertook to upgrade basic underground municipal infrastructure prior to the surface construction. Even within tight construction limits, the task of providing a coordinated effort to keep downtown businesses operating with little disruption was immensely successful. The 5,000 cubic yards of pavement, 5,586 square feet of sidewalk brick pavers and 4,472 square feet of street pavers will provide long-term solutions to an inviting downtown shopping environment. Congratulations to engineers and planners for their recognition of concrete's contribution to maximum street lighting impact and low urban heat island effect - all to the benefit of downtown Fargo.
