This all-concrete colossus contains 5,000 cubic yards of ready mix concrete in addition to a precast concrete roof to contain 7 million gallons of city water. The use of color stains and form-liners on the exterior resulted in an architecturally pleasing appearance that matched adjacent precast structures. The use of custom aggregates gradations, pozzolans, and super-plasticizers in the ready mix contributed to workability while providing low W/C ratios and permeability and reduced shrinkage and cracking in the tank walls. The precast double-tee roof system was the perfect solution to getting a cover on the clearwell.
