The topography that makes downtown Minot an aesthetically pleasing location also contributes to complications with grade changes in street paving and driveway construction. This massive paving project used segmented concrete masonry wall units to protect properties and provide aesthetically pleasing vistas to further enhance the new construction on South Broadway. Aesthetics was improved with the use of multi-color blocks to create a pattern in the wall face. Approximately 7800 of the 200-pound blocks were incorporated into five retaining walls varying in height from two feet to 17 feet.
