The Owners of the Infinity Windows, Inc. manufacturing plant in Fargo have again chosen concrete to maximize the sustainability aspects of their new facility. Between the precast concrete building and the concrete parking area, this facility’s long life, aesthetics, energy efficiency, and general serviceability will set the standard for quality construction in the upper Midwest.

Special attention was made to construction of the high quality industrial floor. In additional to floor flatness issues, the engineers had to design appropriate concrete mixes for high traffic, minimal curl, and hard wheels. Use of the laser screed in combination with a Telebelt Conveyer simplified concrete placement. Usage of steel dowels at construction joints were combined with one inch steel fiber dosage rates of 43 pounds per cubic yard to provide all necessary reinforcement for the floor.

Concrete pavement for the parking area was chosen for all the right reasons. Opp Construction was able to provide quality paving work on a timely basis to allow the facility to get up and running on a tight time schedule. Once again, concrete meets the needs for this owner’s sustainable philosophy.
