A 2009 presidential executive order requires federal agencies to be more environmentally friendly and energy efficient -- and it also requires the same of government contractors. Report from the NRMCA National Convention
Wal-Mart will start a new program of building "Express" size stores in the near future. Word from a Virginia ready mix supplier is that Wal-Mart selected their company for parking lot materials based on their NRMCA Green-Star Certification. Recommendation: Get your Green-Star Certification before your competition to do business with Wal-Mart.

NDDOT Expected to Implement Plant Certification
Word is that the NDDOT will be expected to specify plant certification by the construction season 2012. Preliminary discussions indicated a support for use of the NRMCA Certification procedures in addition to MNDOT. Colin Lobo from NRMCA has been invited to discuss the Plant Certification at the upcoming NDRMCPA Tech Day in January.
